Today we have a Russian Berdan No.2 rifle produced in 1889. This Rifle is in used condition with the front of the stock being a replacement and what seems like the original front band forced back on with some wood loss. This rifles stock was probably cut down for sporting purposes at one point but was later restored. The metal is fairly nice and free of pitting. Most of these rifles I see are in poor condition. This rifle does have the Volley rear sight and front sight located on the front band, you don’t see this very often. The Bore is bright with strong rifling. Unfortunately, the bolt does not match the rest of the rifle but it does match its self.
